When you should come to Lofoten depends on your interests. The traditional Lofoten fishing season is usually from mid-February to mid-April, the Midnight sun is here from May 27th to July 17th, the warmest season is normally in July and August, the Northern lights can be seen on dark nights, normally from the end of August to the beginning of April.
The weather in Lofoten is changeable, and even in summer you must be prepared for cold days. We have a lot of wind at times, and a storm can come at any time of the year. The weather can change quickly, so keep an eye on the weather forecast and have an alternative route in mind.
The northern lights can be seen from the end of August to the beginning of April. There are many good apps with aurora alerts. Our recommendation is the app My Aurora Forecast. The Northern Lights at our locations can often be seen right outside the door.
The midnight sun in our location is visible from May 27th to July 17th. The midnight sun can be seen in towards the north.
On the day of check-in, when your room is ready, usually between 12 noon and 3 pm, we will send an e-mail with the information you need to enter. It is therefore important that you have access to internet on the day of check-in. If your booking is made via booking.com, information will mainly be sent in the message center on your app.
The easiest way to contact us is via the message center on booking.com app. if you have made the booking directly, the best way to contact us is to call. Text messages and e-mails are usually only answered during office hours on weekdays.
We have three grocery stores on Moskenes island. COOP at Reine and Matkroken and Joker at Sørvågen. In addition, there is a good selection of groceries at Circle K in the centre of Reine.
There are restaurants and cafés all along the road from Hamnøy to Å. We recommend that you contact the restaurants and cafés directly for opening hours, as these vary from place to place and season to season.
Which activities you should take part in depends on your interests. We offer trips on the Lofoten Sea and in Lofotodden National Park, with our fishing boat or RIB. For more information about our tours, see Activities.
There are also other activity providers on the island who offer, for example, kayaking or guided mountain tours in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.
We have no lower or upper age limit on our tours. We adapt the trips to our guests, and we have approved rescue equipment for all ages. However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that a trip by speedboat can pose a risk. We therefore ask guests with previous back, neck and knee injuries, or guests who are pregnant to contact us directly before booking a RIB trip.
If you cannot come as planned, please contact us as soon as possible. If you book accommodation or activities directly with us, you have the right to change or cancel within 14 days before arrival. If you book accommodation via a third party, the cancellation deadline you selected when booking applies. See our terms and conditions for more information. If you cancel later than 14 days before, your order will not be refunded. The same applies if you do not check in at the accommodation, or do not turn up for the activity.
Unforeseen events may occur for us, the weather may be bad, or we may not reach the minimum number to go out on tour. If we cancel the activity you are registered for, for whatever reason, you will receive a full refund for this activity.
You are insured through us when you participate in our activities.
Travel insurance is not included in your booking. This means that travel to and from the meeting place and incidents en route are not part of the insurance we have for you. We therefore recommend that you make sure you have good travel insurance when you come to Lofoten. Unforeseen events may occur in your journey. We would like to inform you that bad weather is not considered an unforeseen event, this is something that everyone traveling to Lofoten must take into account.
