Northern Norway Expedition

Northern Norway Expedition

Every year during the winter months, immense schools of herring are migrating through the fjords of Northern Norway, on their way to their spawning grounds. This natural phenomenon attracts large numbers of hungry orcas and humpback whales. While hunting the whales stay close to the surface, often breaching and displaying incredible hunting techniques. A whale watching paradise!

Snorkeling with Whales
Join us on a week-long whale watching expedition aboard a historic 70-foot fishing boat. For a special highlight you can meet the giants of the sea in their element and go snorkeling with whales. This activity is optional and requires good swimming skills and previous snorkeling experience to join.

If you are not so keen on jumping into the Arctic sea, you can always join as on-board as an observer. Our main focus will be following the whale / herring migration, but Norway has much more to offer. Stunning scenery along the fjords, arctic wildlife and, of course, the magical northern lights.

IMPORTANT
This trip involves water- and land-based activities that can be strenuous and challenging – especially due to the arctic climate. Good physical fitness is therefore required to join the expedition. If you have any questions, please contact us – we are happy to help!

As we are dealing with nature, the migration pattern of the herring is subject to change at any given time and we might have to adjust our port of departure (currently Tromsø) prior to the trip start. We will always keep you up to date on any news before the start date of your expedition
