Safety First<\/strong> Fishing With the \u201cJuksahjul\u201d<\/strong> Preparing the Catch<\/strong>
\nThe boat crew will meet you at our office in the center of Reine. From there, it\u2019s just a couple of minutes walking to reach the fishing vessel, Trio II. Life jackets are handed out and safety instructions are given before the start of the trip. On the way to the first stop, you\u2019ll have time to have a cup of coffee or tea while enjoying the views of the dramatic mountain range known as the Lofoten Wall. During this tour, we usually head west towards the maelstrom.<\/p>\n
\nOnce we\u2019ve reached the fishing spot, you\u2019ll receive instructions about how to use the Trio II\u2019s onboard fishing equipment, which is known as the \u201cjuksahjul\u201d. This is a traditional way of fishing in Lofoten. The crew on board will help you along the way with advice and tips about technique, etc., but you will be responsible for the actual fishing.<\/p>\n
\nOn the boat, you\u2019ll also get some great tips about how to best cook the fish that you catch, and of course you can take the fish with you after the tour. Nothing tastes as good as fresh fish straight from the ocean.
